    Wash it before deciding what to do with it

    This is such a pretty fabric, it's a gorgeous colour, slightly deeper that the picture. But I was really disappointed when it arrive because it was so stiff - no bias stretch and no drape. I wanted it for a bias cut skirt so I was pretty sure it wasn't suitable. I couldn't return as I got it in a sale, so I washed it before putting it in my stash and it came out soft and drapey, just as I had wanted. It's a nice weight on the heavier side. It was a nightmare to cut out, very slippery. But surprisingly easy to sew - I pinned well, used a walking foot and a microtex needle - I think because it's quite thick. Next time I might cut it out before washing it - all that stiffening should make it much easier and polyester doesn't usually shrink much.
